Local-first by design
Journal entries, memories, recovered conversations, photos, voice memos, locations, and patterns are stored in the app’s private local storage unless you choose an intelligence provider that requires sending an active conversation turn outside your device.
Import
EverThread is built to help memories held elsewhere come home. Import formats may include exported conversations, JSON files, text, photos, voice, and other supported archive formats as the app evolves.
Export
Settings → Export creates a plain JSON copy of your memories, conversations, and threads. Plain export matters because your archive should remain readable outside the app.
Delete
Deleting EverThread from your device removes the app and its local app data from that device. Copies may remain only if you previously exported your data or included app data in a device or iCloud backup.
Provider choice
Provider choice is part of data ownership. Apple Intelligence and Ollama are designed for local or user-controlled use. Anthropic, OpenAI, and custom backends receive only the active conversation context you choose to send through them.
There is no account deletion page because EverThread does not require account creation. Data control lives in import, export, provider choice, and local app deletion.
